di-soric UGUTI IO-Link ultrasonic label sensors

The new UGUTI 6/70 ultrasonic label sensor from di-soric is especially suitable for transparent, thin and metallized labels. With maximum reproducibility, it detects and positions a wide range of different labels at belt speeds of up to 250 meters per minute. Thanks to IO-Link, the label sensor transmits diagnostic data and process data simply and simultaneously.

This compact ultrasonic label sensor in a full potting metal housing, attached close to the dispenser, detects label edges quickly and reliably with a response time of 0.25 milliseconds. A fork width of 6 millimeters leaves enough clearance for booklets. One innovation is the performance scope and the simplicity during installation and handling: The world's first ultrasonic label sensor to be equipped with the universal and bidirectional IO-Link communication interface allows comprehensive diagnostics down to the process level as well as centrally storable and reproducible parameter solutions to be implemented.

Operation and teach-in are easy: Using auto-teach, the sensor finds the corresponding threshold value within a few seconds. The teach-in process takes place just as easily from the master or control level. The benefits for diagnostics and configuration are one-of-a-kind: In addition to a teach input, the ultrasonic label sensor has two independent outputs that enable parallel operation as a switching output and IO-Link communication. IO-Link allows for comprehensive diagnostics of the process stability while the system is running. The sensor continually exchanges performance data and signal values with the control system level. It provides status information via self-diagnostics. This includes information about function reserves or pending service intervals, for instance.

Recipes stored in the IO-Link master or on the control system level can be used to talk to entire sensor groups. The sensors equipped with IO-Link configure themselves after a device change within a few seconds. Switching behavior, threshold values or other parameters can be configured remotely as needed. Remote diagnostics and maintenance of the sensors can be carried out conveniently.
